U.S. citizen gives EFCC, GTBank 48 hours to release VeryDarkMan, hints at military action

A U.S. citizen has given the EFCC and GTBank a 48-hour ultimatum, requesting that internet celebrity VeryDarkMan be released immediately.

The person threatened that the U.S. military might step in if he was not freed by Monday night.

The warning was posted on X (formerly Twitter), and it sparked a lot of online discussion.

This comes after the EFCC arrested VeryDarkMan on Friday, May 2, outside a GTBank branch.

He was reportedly held up at the bank’s entrance for roughly five minutes before being taken into custody not long after leaving the building.

Many of VeryDarkMan’s supporters still accuse GTBank of being involved in the arrest, despite a video that claims the bank had no direct involvement in it having surfaced.

Amidst the controversy, the American national, who claimed to be a prominent figure, shared a video message that explained:

“This is a serious warning, and I hope you guys listen very well. You cannot arrest VeryDarkMan, a freedom fighter. Free him within the next 48 hours.”

“To the CEO of GTBank and the EFCC: I’m the mama with a very big bag. This is a direct contact from the USA. Free VeryDarkMan before Monday evening or a message will be sent by the U.S. military.”

The post has since gone viral, with many users flooding the comment section to share their thoughts and reactions.
