Tobi Amusan advances to the semifinals of the women’s 100-meter hurdles event in the Paris Olympics

In the 100-meter women’s hurdles competition, Tobi Amusan started her journey to the podium by winning her heat in 12.49 seconds and advancing to the semi-finals.

The current world record holder, Amusan, outran Alaysha Johnson of the USA in second place with a time of 12.61 seconds and Janeek Brown in Heat 1 with a time of 12.84 seconds.

The time places Amsuan behind Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, the reigning Olympic champion, as the second-fastest qualifier overall.

Nigeria has not yet taken home a medal from the Olympics this year.
