Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, is set to replace Tite as Brazil’s head coach.
Tite’s tenure as Selecao coach ended with Brazil’s elimination from the World Cup round of 16 at the hands of Croatia.
Tite’s last game in charge of the Brazil national team was a few days ago, when Croatia defeated his team.
Brazil, according to UOL Esporte, wants Ancelotti to lead the ‘Selecao’ in the coming years.
The Brazilian Confederation already contacted Ancelotti in October.
The Italian postponed any possible negotiations until Tite stepped down permanently after the 2022 World Cup.
The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager is clear that his priority is to finish the season with Real Madrid and, if he can reach an agreement with the confederation, to take over the Brazilian national team after the summer.
Ancelotti’s current Real Madrid contract expires in June 2024, after which he will have to negotiate with the La Liga champions if he wishes to leave next summer.
If Ancelotti, Real Madrid, and Brazil reach an agreement, the Selecao will need to find an interim coach for the remaining matches before the Italian is released.
