Three people were killed in an accident that occurred in Ogun State on Friday.
Three people were also injured in the car accident, while the remaining two passengers were rescued unharmed.
The crash occurred at 7:10 am on Friday at a U-turn close to Total Petrol Station.
“A total of eight persons were involved, all male adults; three persons sustained various degrees of injuries, two were unhurt and unfortunately, three persons were recorded killed,” the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) stated.
According to Florence Okpe, FRSC spokesperson in Ogun State, the crash involved three vehicles: a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number MNA48Z, a Man Diesel truck with registration number ABC682ZW, and a Daf truck with registration number T- 3756LA.
Okpe blamed the crash on overspeeding, which she said caused the truck driver to lose control and ram into the Julius Berger truck as he was about to make a U-turn, before colliding with the Toyota bus.
Okpe stated that the injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere for medical attention, while the bodies were deposited at FOS Morgue Ipara.
While commiserating with the families of the crash victims, Ahmed Umar, Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun, urged motorists to always drive defensively by anticipating the actions of other drivers and obeying road signs.
