A Nigerian man living in the UK bemoans the exorbitant amount of tax he pays despite earning around £500 per week.
A viral video depicted a young man’s frustration with the difficulty of paying taxes in the United Kingdom.
He claimed that paying £150 weekly in tax after earning £500 is a rip-off by the system. He went on to urge his close associates in the United Kingdom to understand his situation if he is unable to afford fish and must rely on ground crayfish in his diet.
“This country is just ripping off. How can I work $500 in a week and you’re taking off $150 as tax? You turned yourself into a rich man that snatched a poor man’s wife. I can even use meat to eat. If you see me eating soup with blended crayfish, just try and understand that it is a fish too from the ocean,” he said in Yoruba.
