Nigerians are Suffering but Politicians are asking for Votes – Food Inflation 2nd Highest in the World

Nigeria’s food inflation rate of 24.3% was ranked second highest in the world by the reputable organization World Ranking.

The rate of food inflation increased from the 24.3% recorded in the previous month to 23.34% on an annual basis, but our leaders have not taken any action to stop it.

Price increases for bread and cereals, food items, potatoes, yams, and other tubers, oil, and fat are all blamed for the rise in the food index.

High food prices, disruptions in the food supply chain, increases in import costs as a result of currency depreciation, and increases in production costs all contributed to the rise in inflation.

While food prices continue to rise, our leaders only seem interested in campaigning for votes and making empty promises.
