Through the Ministry of Justice, the Nigerian government has profiled 3,000 cases of terrorism.
Abubakar Malami (SAN), the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, delivered the fugue on Thursday. At the 17th iteration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Administration Scorecard Series, he gave a presentation.
Over 1,500 of the 3,000 terrorism cases that had been profiled up to that point had been prosecuted, resulting in 397 convictions, the man claimed.
According to Malami, there have been 7,000 cases of maritime attacks, armed robberies, pipeline and equipment vandalism, financial crimes, cybercrime, kidnapping, and anti-corruption prosecutions.
The Federal High Court, the Legal Aid Council, and the Defense Headquarters are working with the ministry to plan the upcoming round of terrorism-related trials.
A framework for joint terrorism case investigations has also been developed by the AGF’s office in collaboration with pertinent security and law enforcement agencies.
Malami reaffirmed that he would continue to offer advice and direct the government on criminal justice and other legal issues.
