“The Man I Want Doesn’t Exist” — Nigerian Lady Lists Strict Standards That Keep Her Single

A young Nigerian woman has set social media buzzing after openly explaining why she has chosen to remain single and child-free, insisting that no man has been able to meet her standards for marriage.

The lady, a TikToker identified as @stephaniejudithuc, shared her views in a viral video where she candidly admitted that the kind of man she desires may not even exist. According to her, her decision to stay single is deliberate, not accidental.

In the now-trending clip, she declared that every man she has encountered so far falls short of what she considers acceptable for marriage.

“The thing is, no man actually meets my standards. Like, the kind of man I want to marry, I don’t think he exists. All men are either disvirgined, expired, or they are just ugly. And I don’t want my child to look that way,” she said.

Beyond physical appearance, the TikToker stressed that any man she would consider marrying must be domestically equipped. She explained that household responsibilities would not be optional.

“He must know how to cook, wash my clothes, and the children we are going to give birth to — he must do the laundry,” she added.

However, her most controversial stance came when she addressed finances and traditional marriage roles. Contrary to societal norms, the lady said she wants to be the primary provider in the relationship and take full control of household decisions.

“I will come and pay his groom price. Because it is me that will pay and drop him in my house. I will marry a man by myself. I will marry you, you will bear my surname, and you will stay in my house,” she stated.

She also criticised the pressure society places on women to marry and have children, stressing that she has no interest in conforming to expectations that do not align with her personal values.

According to her, marriage should be a partnership that fits her lifestyle and beliefs, not a box to be ticked to satisfy cultural norms.

Unsurprisingly, the video has continued to trend online, drawing mixed reactions from viewers. While some applauded her confidence and refusal to settle, others described her standards as unrealistic and provocative.

As the debate rages on, one thing is clear — her bold opinions have reignited conversations about gender roles, marriage expectations, and personal choice in modern Nigerian society.
