Teenage arrested by police over woman’s death in Edo following sex

Kingdom Paul, 18, has been taken into custody by Edo State Police Command officers in connection with the alleged murder of Victory Oro, 38, in Benin.

Last Thursday’s incident happened at a nearby lodge where Paul and Oro had gone to have sex after making a prearranged plan.

The teenager was among those suspected of being criminals who were paraded on Friday at the Benin City police command headquarters.

The police claim that after they ended the sexual act, there was a fight and Paul stabbed Oro.

She was rushed to a hospital on Upper Ekenwan Road where she died.

Her body has since been placed in the hospital mortuary by the police for an autopsy.

Spokesman for the Edo State Police, SP Moses Joel Yamu, stated: “On May 9, 2024, at approximately 12:00 noon, Evbuotubu Division operatives acting on information, arrested one Kingdom Paul’m’, 18 years old, who stabbed one lady named Victory Oro ‘f, 38 years old, in a lodge where they went to have fun.”

“The victim passed away at Supreme Hospital, Upper Ekenwan, after being taken there right away. Her corpse has been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing.”

In an interview with reporters, the suspect, Paul, acknowledged the crime and claimed he had attacked Oro out of the blue even though he had previously promised to give her N2,000 for the run-in.
