Tanker drivers reopen the Zaria-Kano road after negotiations

Highway tanker drivers reopened the Zaria-Kano Federal Road on Saturday.

Tanker drivers had blocked the Zaria-Kano route in protest over the suspected assassination of one of their members.

However, after a series of conversations with security agents, the protesting drivers agreed to reopen the route on Saturday morning.

Lawal Garba, the State Acting Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, verified the development and stated that normalcy had subsequently resumed.

“I’m happy to inform you this morning that the Zaria-Kano Highway was reopened around 9:30am today after days of blockage.

“Traffic flow is smooth as the road is fully open. Personnel of the Command are in traffic control,” he said.
