Symply Tacha Sparks Debate, Says Men Must Still Impress Women

Nigerian influencer and reality TV star Symply Tacha has ignited fresh conversations online after insisting that men must continue to make intentional efforts to impress women in relationships.

Taking to social media, Tacha criticised the growing narrative that men no longer need to impress women, describing it as misleading and inconsistent with real-life dating expectations.

According to her, society still places expectations on men to take women out, buy gifts, and initiate romantic gestures, making the claim that “men don’t have to impress” contradictory.

“You can’t push the whole narrative of ‘men don’t have to impress’ and every other day you’re telling a girl, ‘let me buy you bottles, let me take you out.’ There has to be effort,” she said.

To further emphasise her point, Tacha drew an analogy from nature, comparing men to male birds, which are known to perform elaborate displays to attract female mates.

She argued that if animals instinctively understand the need to impress, humans should not pretend otherwise.

“If a bird can understand he has to impress the female, who are you to not understand you have to impress?” she added, dismissing what she described as “woke 2025 nonsense.”

Tacha also questioned modern dating trends where effort is treated as optional for men, while women are still expected to maintain standards in appearance, behaviour, and self-development.

She urged women to be honest about their expectations and warned against accepting bare minimum treatment under the guise of independence or modern ideology.

Her comments have since triggered mixed reactions online, with some users agreeing that effort remains essential in relationships, while others argue that mutual effort should replace traditional gender roles.
