In a rare and emotional development, a survivor has been found alive 11 days after a fire outbreak led to the collapse of a building on Lagos Island.
The incident occurred at Great Nigeria House, located in a busy market area on Lagos Island. The fire reportedly broke out on Christmas Eve, triggering panic among traders, residents, and passersby before the building eventually collapsed.
According to reports, the survivor was trapped beneath the rubble since the collapse and was discovered during ongoing rescue operations, long after hopes of finding anyone alive had begun to fade. The individual was rescued alive, a development many have described as nothing short of a miracle, considering the length of time spent under the debris.
The disaster left the community deeply shaken due to the scale of destruction and loss of lives.
