Arnold Masuka, a 40-year-old man, has filed for divorce from his wife of ten years, Hilda Mleya, claiming that her exceptional beauty threatens their marriage.
Masuka filed his petition in Gokwe before Chief Chireya’s court, expressing concern that his wife’s attractiveness would attract the attention of other men.
Masuka also accused Mleya of infidelity and disrespect during the court proceedings.
He claimed she had previously left him for another man and returned after a two-month absence.
Masuka claimed to have forgiven her, but he admitted that he no longer trusted her.
Furthermore, he claimed that Mleya did not treat him with the respect due to a family head, frequently insulting him in front of their children.
The couple has two school-age children, according to the court.
Chief Chireya advised Masuka to reconsider his divorce request and work on mending their marriage.
Masuka, on the other hand, remained steadfast in his decision, insisting on proceeding with the divorce.
The court denied the divorce but ordered the couple to seek professional counseling.
