A Port Harcourt-based shoemaker, Akpaka NG, has taken up a challenge thrown by Lagos shoemaker Nelson, who went viral for claiming to be the best shoemaker in Nigeria.
Nelson had posted a video showcasing a shoe he made, daring any shoemaker in the country to replicate it.
He also attached a ₦100,000 cash prize for anyone who could match his craftsmanship.
In response, Akpaka NG recreated the same shoe and shared a video detailing the intricate process involved.
He criticized Nelson’s claim of being the best, emphasizing that many skilled artisans, including himself, have made significant contributions to the Nigerian shoemaking industry.
Akpaka also pointed out what he described as flaws in Nelson’s original design.
Declaring himself the winner of the challenge, he called on Nelson to fulfill his promise and send the ₦100,000 prize.
