An artificial intelligence (AI)-generated picture of Hollywood star Brad Pitt was used by a scammer boy to defraud a woman out of €830,000.
According to reports, the con artist pretended to be the actor and said he needed the money for cancer treatment.
The incident was made public by a post on the well-known social media site TikTok.
The post claims that the con artist contacted the woman by inventing a story about Brad Pitt’s medical condition and asking for money.
The woman transferred the money after exchanging messages with the actor, only to find out later that he was doing well.
She then informed the police about the incident.
The now-viral story has generated a lot of online responses, with worried people pouring their opinions into the post’s comment section.
