Residents of the Imo community flee their homes due to ongoing gunman attacks

Residents of the Amuro autonomous community in Imo State’s Okigwe Local Government Area have reportedly fled their homes due to frequent gunmen attacks.

There was widespread panic in the area as a result of the daily reports of attacks.

On Wednesday, gunmen kidnapped the wife of the community’s traditional leader, Ugoeze Umugborogu.

Along with kidnapping the monarch’s wife, the raging gunmen also set fire to the All Progressives Congress and Labour Party chairs’ Amuro ward country mansions.

According to a community source who asked to remain anonymous, the assailants set fire to the houses as soon as they arrived.
