Primary 6 boy who wrote a book and sold it in motor parks bags a scholarship

Chidera Ikeoha, a young Nigerian boy, has been given a lifetime scholarship after writing a book while in Primary 6 and selling it in parks.

This was revealed in a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting Chidera’s determination as he visited motor parks in Enugu to advertise and sell his book.

A photo of the book’s cover was also shared online, drawing widespread attention.

Hours after his story gained traction, EduCare awarded Chidera a lifetime scholarship.

In addition to sponsoring his education, the organization will publish his book on Amazon and provide him with full support.

The initial post introducing Chidera read: “Meet Nigeria’s youngest author, Chidera Ikeoha, who wrote a book in Primary 6 and went from park to park selling it in Enugu.”

A follow-up update later announced: “Update: Chidera Ikeoha has been awarded a lifetime scholarship by EduCare. His book will be listed on Amazon, and he’d be taken off the streets to focus on his education.”

As the news spread, many social media users flooded the comment section to express their thoughts and celebrate his achievement.

@TheShePatriot: “I’ve been writing since Pry 4, using my old school notes. Instead of selling em, I let my friends read dem for free. Even now, I got many unfinished books just chilling in my head. That’s the difference between me and this kid—he really out here hustling. Mad respect!”

@kothwayyy: “youngest? men i write novels at basic one, na publishing money no dey.”

@PHCEGE: “This is one of the major thing we celebrated in Nigeria some years ago. Right now, we celebrate nudity. I hope we begin to get it right from here, going forward!!”

@IKECHUKWUU4926: “He will go very far. May God help him.”
