A user on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) has shared a story explaining why a lady allegedly stole her boyfriend’s gold chain to purchase an iPhone 16.
The X user, identified as @honestarsenalF, claimed that the incident, which reportedly happened in October 2025, was triggered by peer pressure.
According to the account, the gold chain went missing from the boyfriend’s apartment, leading to suspicion and a serious dispute between him and his male friend who was living with him at the time. The disagreement escalated to the point where the friend eventually moved out over the missing item.
However, the truth allegedly came to light after the girlfriend fell out with one of her own friends. During the fallout, one of her friends reportedly revealed that she was responsible for taking the gold chain.
It was further alleged that the lady sold the chain to fund the purchase of an iPhone 16.
The situation has since taken a dramatic turn, as the lady—who is reportedly pregnant—has allegedly been arrested. Her boyfriend has also demanded the return of his missing gold chain.
According to the viral post, the lady justified her actions by claiming her boyfriend did not financially support her enough. She allegedly stated that he spends money on himself and owns several gold chains. She believed that even if she had asked him for money to buy the phone, he would have refused.
Part of the post reads:
“Her only excuse for stealing was that her boyfriend doesn’t spend enough on her and always spends on himself. She said he has many gold chains, and if she had asked him for money to buy the phone, he wouldn’t have given it to her. So she felt she had to do it since he has several gold chains, and that was the smallest one.”
The story has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many users debating issues surrounding peer pressure, entitlement in relationships, financial expectations, and trust.
