Precious Okoye, a model from Nigeria, was crowned the winner of the Miss Africa 2022 competition in Calabar, Cross River State.
Precious won the competition on Tuesday, beating out Tina Haimbala of Namibia and Poelano Mothisi of Lesotho for the top two spots.
On December 27, 2022, more than 20 contestants and numerous dignitaries from Africa and other continents attended the event.
Precious became the first Nigerian to hold the title after winning Miss Africa Calabar.
Precious thanked everyone for helping to make her dreams come true during her remarks, including her family, fellow competitors, organizers, and supporters.
She stated, “I feel overwhelmed being crowned Miss Africa, as this has always been what I wanted for my modelling career. The platform will enable me to tell my story, empower the youths and fly my country’s flag with so much pride and I cannot wait to put in all my best to make you all proud.”
