Police fire tear gas at #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters in Kano

According to a witness at the scene, Nigerian police used tear gas on Thursday to disperse a crowd of several hundred demonstrators who were protesting the high cost of living in the northern city of Kano.

The witness claimed that when protesters attempted to start bonfires outside the governor’s office in Kano, police used tear gas in response, forcing many of the demonstrators to retreat. Protesters were also rallying in Lagos and the capital Abuja.
