Police detain an Abuja pastor for preaching with an AK-47

Pastor Uche Aigbe, the presiding pastor of House on The Rock in Abuja, has been arrested for carrying an AK-47 to the pulpit.

Aigbe was apprehended by the Intelligence Response Team, IRT, of the Force Intelligence Bureau, FIB.

Following the distribution of a video on social media, the police launched an investigation.

On Sunday, the cleric is seen preaching in church while carrying the rifle on his left shoulder.

According to reports, Aigbe was given his service weapon by Inspector Musa Audu. An orderly room trial will be held for the officer.

Sadiq Abubakar, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory Command, wants Aigbe fired for his misconduct.

The CP has made a formal recommendation to Usman Baba, the Inspector-General of Police.

The security agency will most likely provide an update on the situation.
