A group of Nigerian cops were filmed beating up a young man in Delta State after he allegedly refused to give them a bribe.
According to reports, the man was stopped by officers at the checkpoint but refused to pay the usual 100 naira pass fee.
The officers were said to have taken the man’s car documents and license plate numbers.
When the young man approached them to ask that they return the items to him, the armed cops swooped down on him.
In the video, one of the officers can be seen pulling a dagger from its scabbard, threatening the young man’s life, and another immediately comes at him, hitting him with sticks, drawing more officers to descend on the young man. Passersby and other motorists who appear to be afraid to intervene stare helplessly.
