The Nigerian Police Force has detained a married woman for allegedly tricking a man into thinking she was unmarried in order to obtain ₦607,500 from him.
In order to keep up a romantic relationship with the man, the woman lied about her marital status, according to a widely shared post on X (formerly Twitter).
She received ₦607,500 from him in total, according to the post, before he realized she was legally married and could not keep her end of the bargain. She was arrested as a result of this disclosure.
