Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido’s first child, Imade Adeleke, has once again addressed fans who continue to associate her romantically with the Afrobeats superstar, despite her repeated claims that she has moved on.
Speaking during a recent live session, Sophia recounted an uncomfortable encounter with a content creator who publicly referred to her as “OBO’s wife” after spotting her in public.
According to her, the remark caught her off guard and made her visibly uneasy.
“The guy that was doing content saw me and then he got really excited and shouted, ‘Mama Imade, OBO’s wife.’ I said, where? I was like, where? I didn’t see oo. It’s the wrong person, guys, the wrong female,” she explained.
Sophia emphasized that such labels should stop, stressing the importance of respecting people’s boundaries and personal decisions.
“Let’s not do that. Let’s respect people’s boundaries, let’s respect people’s rules. If people have moved on, allow them to move on. Everyone is at peace,” she added.
Her remarks have since sparked conversations across social media, with many users debating respect, personal identity, and the tendency to define women by past relationships.
While some commenters supported her stance — with one writing, “People should let this woman be, allow her live her life” — others questioned her intentions, suggesting she might still be emotionally connected. One user remarked, “This looks like the opposite; you’re indirectly saying you miss him.”
Meanwhile, Davido is married to his longtime partner, Chioma Rowland, and the couple recently welcomed twins together.
Sophia Momodu’s message, however, remains clear and firm: she wants peace, respect, and the freedom to exist without being constantly tied to a relationship she considers part of her past.
