A 6.4 magnitude earthquake has struck southern Turkey, just weeks after a deadly quake devastated the region, killing over 46,000 people.
The tremor struck the region around 20:00 local time, according to a government source, a disaster and emergency agency, Afad.
People are trapped under rubble, according to the mayor of Hatay in southern Turkey.
On February 6, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck the same area, killing 46,000 people.
Authorities in Turkey have recorded over 6,000 aftershocks since the earthquake struck the region, and Monday’s tremor felt much stronger than previous ones.
