Patience Ozokwo, a veteran Nollywood actress, was overcome with emotion as she received the prestigious Industry Merit Award at the recently concluded AMVCA ceremony.
The beloved actress, affectionately known as “Mama G,” was completely taken aback when she was presented with the prestigious award.
Patience shared in her emotional acceptance speech how she was convinced to attend the event by fellow actor Charles Inojie, unaware of the honor that awaited her.
Patience expressed her gratitude on Instagram and promised to write a heartfelt appreciation post for everyone involved.
However, she needed some time to recover from the shock of the award for the time being.
Patience had encountered several challenges earlier in the day, including a canceled flight from Benin and a delayed flight from Asaba.
Despite these obstacles, she made it to Lagos thanks to Charles Inojie’s encouragement.
Patience wrote in an Instagram post:
“A few hours ago, I was telling my daughter that I might not make it to Lagos because of the canceled flight and the delayed last flight out of Asaba. I had just attended a family wedding in the East on Friday and barely made it back to Lagos. Thanks to @charlesinojie for encouraging me to come. For now, let me rest. My speech will come later.”
