A pastor has drawn attention after reportedly asking several members of his church to leave, urging them to find employment and be productive.
Eyewitnesses reported that congregants reacted with frustration, repeatedly saying, “He has pursued us out of the church. Na G.O you be, you no be God,” reflecting their disbelief at being challenged to take responsibility for their livelihoods.
The pastor, however, emphasised that faith alone cannot replace hard work, stating that spiritual guidance must be accompanied by personal effort.
Many observers described his approach as tough but necessary, citing a growing concern that some individuals rely too heavily on faith while neglecting practical action.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion about striking a balance between spiritual devotion and personal responsibility in modern Nigerian churches.
