Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor, has cautioned men and women against failing to discipline their sexual desires, warning that a lack of self-control is responsible for repeated problems in many lives.
Speaking during a recent sermon, the clergyman said uncontrolled desire is why many men continue to fall into the same traps, regardless of their marital status or position in the church. According to him, marriage alone does not automatically instil discipline.
Quoting from the Bible, Pastor Okafor reminded his congregation that beauty can be deceptive, urging people to look beyond physical appearance.
“You say she is beautiful, but what about her character? You say he is handsome, but what about his altar?” he asked.
He stressed that a man without self-control will pursue women anywhere — on planes, in shopping malls, and even women who simply ask for help — whether he is married or single.
Describing the situation as troubling, Pastor Okafor added that some men carry the same behaviour into the house of God, openly chasing women even within the church.
According to him, temptation itself is not the real problem, but the absence of discipline.
The sermon has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users praising his bluntness, while others questioned whether his message aligns with his personal life.
The comments come amid recent controversy surrounding Pastor Okafor, following marriage betrayal allegations made by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, alongside other claims that have stirred public debate.
