Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Warns Married Men Against Extramarital Affairs, Sparks Online Debate

Renowned gospel minister and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has issued a stern warning to married men who pursue romantic or sexual relationships outside their marriages, declaring that such actions carry serious spiritual and social consequences.

Speaking during a recent sermon that has since gone viral on social media, Pastor Bassey cautioned married men against deceiving young women, stressing that divine judgment awaits anyone who engages in such behaviour.

“If you try it this year, you won’t survive. Your shame will not be forgotten. It will be on social media,” he warned, emphasising accountability before God.

“You Will Not Come Out of That Hotel”

The pastor specifically addressed situations where married men allegedly lure young women into hotels under false pretences, concealing their marital status.

“If you take a woman to a hotel, you lie, meanwhile you are married, you will not come out from that hotel,” Bassey declared, drawing gasps and reactions from listeners.

His statement underscored the seriousness with which he views infidelity and deceit within marriage, framing it not just as a moral failure but a dangerous spiritual act.

Message Also Directed at Women

Pastor Bassey did not limit his admonition to men alone. He also addressed women, urging them to exercise discernment and personal responsibility when engaging with men they know are married.

According to him, greed, material gain, and the desire for attention often cloud judgment.

“You know in your heart that he is married, but because of greed, because of attention, you want to carry bag. If you try it, you won’t survive it,” he cautioned.

Call for Integrity and Moral Discipline

The preacher concluded by stressing that God’s grace should guide all relationships, insisting that both men and women must take responsibility for their choices and uphold integrity.

Since circulating online, the sermon has sparked widespread discussion, with many applauding Pastor Bassey’s bluntness while others criticised the severity of his language.

Regardless of differing opinions, the message has reignited conversations around marriage, faith, accountability, and the consequences of extramarital affairs in today’s society.
