Outrage was sparked by a Nigerian troll’s offensive comments regarding the private lives of DJ Cuppy and Temi Otedola, two billionaire daughters.
A user going by the handle @Fortunatebackup used a now-deleted tweet to compare DJ Cuppy’s relationship status with Temi’s parental role.
“Two billionaire pikin, one no see husband marry. The one wey see husband marry no see pikin born.”
In response to the criticism, @Fortunatebackup regretfully apologized on X for his remarks.
“I’m sorry for my previous tweet about DJ Cuppy and Temi Otedola. I didn’t mean to hurt or offend anyone honestly. My words were thoughtless, and I regret them. I’ve deleted the tweet and going forward I will be more careful with what I say now and in the future,” he wrote.
While some users accepted his apology, others criticized him for making such a remark in the first place, emphasizing the need for sensitivity when discussing people’s private lives.
A social media user, @ChiomaOgbuigwe reacted, “Na so una go Dey type rubbish Dey go, I hope a legal action is taken so that other people can learn from this , una no Dey hear. That tweet is all over TikTok.”
Another user, @LagosPresidentt stated, “I don’t know why they are overreacting to the post, it’s not even that deep. Someone stated the obvious, and all of a sudden everyone got úpset. No like he directly mócked them or something. Y’all will be fine tho.”
