A Nigerian lady, known as @Ariareign on X (formerly Twitter), has shared a heartbreaking story about her brother’s painful experience after visiting a girl he met online.
According to her post, her brother met the unidentified girl on Facebook about four months ago. During that period, he reportedly sent her gifts and money while trying to build what he believed was a genuine relationship.
Although he invited the girl over several times, she declined. Instead, she asked him to visit her in Agege, located on the Mainland in Lagos.
The sister admitted she was initially against the idea, warning him about safety concerns and stories they had heard about certain areas. However, determined and “blinded by love,” he insisted on going. Eventually, she agreed to accompany him for support.
When they arrived, they met the girl and proceeded to a restaurant. Moments later, five young men reportedly appeared and began harassing them. Sensing danger, the sister ran to seek help.
By the time she returned with assistance from nearby good Samaritans, her brother had already been beaten and robbed of his phone and other belongings. He was rushed to the hospital and discharged a week later.
The emotional aftermath, she said, has left her brother deeply heartbroken and shaken by the betrayal.
