One person was killed and another was injured during a sporadic shoot-out between Nigerian soldiers in Apata, Ibadan, Oyo state.
According to eyewitness, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 4, 2023.
According to the eyewitness, they only saw soldiers’ vehicles passing through Brent and heard gunshots.
“Everyone ran for their lives; some lay on the floor to prevent stray bullets.”
According to the eyewitness, a stray bullet struck a young man identified as Samuel, a commercial motorcyclist, who allegedly died instantly.
The reason for the shooting is unknown as we await confirmation from the police and other local authorities.
Attempts to contact the Nigerian Police at the time of filing this report were futile.
