Obafemi Martins is a Nigerian footballer who has won titles in Italy, England, and Russia while playing for Inter Milan, Newcastle United, Portsmouth, and Rubin Kazan.
Despite all of his football records, the former MLS goal of the year appears to have surprised himself with his latest feat.
“Never let other people’s opinions of you define you,” Obafemi wrote on Instagram.
“You might be surprised at what you can accomplish,” he added.
Obafemi, who made his debut in the Unity Cup in 2004 and went on to win 42 caps for Nigeria and score 18 goals.
He played for Chinese club Wuhan before retiring earlier this year. He was a member of the Super Eagles team that finished third in the 2006 AFCON.
