NYSC plans to use E-Naira for corps members

The National Youth Service Corps, or NYSC, is planning to incorporate the E-Naira into the scheme.

The NYSC will work with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to make internet money available to corps members.

The platform would allow the scheme to accept payments with no risk.

Habib Yusuf, CBN Deputy Director, Information Technology, announced this on Monday while leading a courtesy visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja.

According to him, the e-naira would enable the onboarding of a large number of users as well as off-line payments for goods and services.

He stated that the E-naira would also provide its users with the ability to easily implement many innovations.

Responding to the CBN’s request for collaboration, Mrs. Christy Ifeyinwa Uba, Acting DG of NYSC, praised the apex bank for its innovation.

The acting DG stated that the NYSC is willing and ready to collaborate with the CBN or any other organization on any innovation that will make the Corps Members’ service year memorable.

She stated that the NYSC Management would consider the CBN’s request.
