A 36-year-old Nigerian man has sparked a contentious discussion on social media by outlining his requirements for a spouse and adamantly stating that he prefers a partner under the age of 24.
The man, known only as Joshua, caused a lot of controversy when he shared the qualities of his ideal partner on the X platform.
Among his specified requirements, the requirement that his future wife be “not older than 24” particularly irritated a lot of users.
His full post read:
“Hi, my name is Joshua.
Age: 36y/o
Status: Single
Genotype: AA
Blood group: O+
Choice of partner; -Must be a VIRGIN
-Not older than 24
-Must be doing well for herself financially
-Dark skin is preferred Money is not a problem for me.
Note: I don’t like FAT girls.”
The post immediately drew mixed reactions, with many criticizing the age gap and his rigid demands, calling them unrealistic and problematic.
Others, however, supported his right to personal preference, arguing that everyone is entitled to their standards in a partner.
