Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has raised alarm after allegedly apprehending a worker she employed barely a week ago for stealing ₦3 million from her business bank account.
According to the actress, the suspect reportedly gained access to her mobile phone, logged into her Zenith Bank account, and transferred the money just seven days after resuming work.
Sarah Martins took to her Instagram page to share the shocking experience, expressing disbelief that someone she had only recently trusted could carry out such an act in such a short time.
Recounting the incident, the actress revealed that while she was still grappling with the discovery of an initial ₦2 million transfer to an accomplice’s account, the suspect allegedly went ahead to move an additional ₦1 million.
“While I was crying over the ₦2m he moved from my account to his accomplice’s account, he went ahead to move an extra ₦1m and even made sure to delete the debit notification,” she wrote.
She further disclosed that the worker did not have long-term access to her personal affairs, making the alleged theft even more disturbing and raising serious concerns about privacy and security.
The incident has since sparked widespread reactions on social media. While some users sympathized with the actress, others warned about the risks involved in employing new staff.
One commenter wrote, “This is why people are extra careful with domestic staff.” Another added, “Seven days? That’s really scary.”
