“No Tithes, No Night Vigils, No Shouting”: Nigerian Lady Sparks Online Debate Over Loyalty to Jehovah’s Witness Faith

A Nigerian lady has sparked mixed reactions on social media after openly declaring her commitment to the Jehovah’s Witness faith.

In a viral TikTok video, user @queen_essa1 explained why she has no intention of leaving the religious group, citing what she described as its strict adherence to biblical principles.

According to her, Jehovah’s Witnesses practice Christianity based solely on the Bible, without added doctrines or financial pressure. She highlighted some of the faith’s key practices, including the absence of compulsory tithes, no forced fasting, no night vigils, and a calm approach to prayer without shouting.

Emphasising her satisfaction with the doctrine, the TikToker made it clear she is firmly rooted in the faith.

“Make I leave JW go where?! No night vigils, no tithes, no compulsory fasting, no shouting to pray!! Just Bible principles and laws!! I go nowhere oo!! Na here I gum for life,” she wrote in the video caption.

Her comments have since generated widespread debate online, with netizens expressing a mix of support, curiosity, and criticism over her stance.
