Nigerians will re-elect Tinubu in 2027, says APC secretary.

The All Progressives Congress is adamant that, in spite of the economic downturn and the impending coalition between the major opposition parties, President Bola Tinubu will be re-elected in.

There is a real fear that Nigerians may remove Tinubu from office in 2027 due to the prolonged economic hardship brought on by ongoing reforms like the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira.

However, in an interview , Nze Chidi Duru, the ruling party’s deputy national organizing secretary, stated that the ongoing reforms were necessary to stabilize the economy.

He said, “Our party has always recognised the fact that the current challenging economic environment has not in any way got better. When Mr President took over, he asked Nigerians not to pity him. It is an office that he craved and worked hard for before offering himself to provide leadership to Nigeria.

The fact that Mr. President is acutely conscious of the expectations of the average person on the street inspires confidence. The very least that can be expected of them is comfort. Thus, the topic of the 2027 election is appropriate to discuss. In a nation’s history, four years can seem like yesterday.

Let me state that every politician or person holding public office understands the importance of the first day of office because it is from this point on that the people who supported you and those who did not will start to monitor your actions. After that, they have the option to re-elect you or not.

Regarding whether we will be re-elected, in my opinion as a democrat, we have always advocated that, barring His Excellency President Bola Tinubu’s withdrawal from the race, our candidate in 2027 will undoubtedly fly the flag for the APC government for the sole reason that I wish to mention. And, of course, there is the incumbency factor.”
