A Nigerian woman has left social media buzzing after she was spotted making extravagant offerings reportedly worth millions of naira to water gods.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @General Somto, the woman was seen at a riverside with items including cartons of Indomie noodles, packs of soft drinks, a gas cooker, a standing fan, and other household goods. One by one, she prayed over them and threw them into the river.
Passersby were reportedly stunned by the scale of the ritual, with online users divided over the display. While some questioned the excess, others defended it as a personal and cultural spiritual practice.
One shocked social media user wrote, “Is this not too much for the gods to consume?” Another added, “This is a full supermarket right there. I’m speechless.”
The video has since gone viral, sparking debates about the lengths people go to in seeking spiritual intervention.
