A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to express her disbelief after her friend accepted a marriage proposal from a man she had previously exposed for cheating. The story, shared on X (formerly Twitter), has since sparked a wave of reactions online.
The woman explained that she accidentally discovered her friend’s boyfriend on a date with another woman. Concerned for her friend, she took photos of the encounter as proof and sent them to her friend to ensure she knew the truth before making any decisions.
Following the revelation, her friend reportedly confronted the man, which led to the end of their relationship. The woman thought her intervention had resolved the situation and that her friend would no longer pursue the relationship.
However, about a month later, the same friend appeared proudly showing off an engagement ring, announcing that the man had proposed to her. According to the woman, he had apologized for his past actions and claimed he had changed.
Sharing her story online, the woman wrote:
“I found out my friend’s man was cheating on her when I happened to see him on a date with another woman. I took pictures and sent to her, which led to them breaking up—just for her to pop up one month later with an engagement ring talking about ‘he proposed, he’s changed’. I blocked her.”
The post quickly went viral, with social media users sharing mixed reactions. Some questioned the wisdom of the friend’s decision, while others expressed hope that people can truly change, even after past mistakes.
