Nigerian woman bemoans racist treatment after being denied hotel stay in paris

A Nigerian woman doctor who is a permanent resident of Canada and works in the UK has expressed outrage over what she calls racist treatment after her flight from Winnipeg to Newcastle was rerouted to Paris.

The situation became more heated when the traveler heard a customer service representative whispering to other non-visa travelers that they should speak more quietly when they asked about their hotel plans, presumably so she would not overhear them.

The fact that her green passport appeared to be the cause of her exclusion only made the traveler even more devastated.

The doctor, who is a professional working in the UK and is not a refugee, was left without basic supplies during the two-day wait because her hand luggage was checked in.

She criticized the treatment as racist and unjust, asking why she was singled out because of her passport and nationality.
