Nigerian man refills car with petrol worth N58,548, fled without paying

After buying fuel at an Ekiti filling station for ₦58,548 and escaping without paying, a Nigerian man has provoked reactions on social media.

The incident was made public by user @Liltuffsb, who shared it in a viral post on X (formerly Twitter).

The post disclosed that an elderly fuel attendant was left in debt and distress after the man, whose photo was attached, filled up his tank at a filling station in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, and drove away.

CCTV shows that the suspect’s face and car information were recorded.

He was driving a Honda Accord with the license plate GGE576DY, which is referred to as “End of Discussion.” The man was also seen in the video widening the station’s gate to make it easier for him to flee during the transaction.

The post read: “A customer came to fill up his tank and zoomed off without paying. He stole 59.20 liters (₦58,548.4).”

The old man who sold the fuel to him is now in debt and has been in tears since the incident occurred on January 3, 2025. We have CCTV footage of the entire event.” 

It continued: “The incident happened in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. He drives a Honda Accord (‘End of Discussion’) with plate number GGE576DY. Please help catch this criminal and raise awareness. Thank you”

Concerned people poured their opinions and reactions to the sad event into the comment section as the video went viral.
