A Nigerian man has taken to social media to express his frustration after an unexpected bank transaction left many Nigerians talking online.
The man, identified as @betsage4 on X (formerly Twitter), revealed that he transferred ₦100,000 to his Zenith Bank account but was shocked by the balance he saw afterward.
According to his post shared on December 31, 2025, the account reflected just ₦63,000 after the transfer, raising questions about possible deductions or transaction issues.
Sharing his disbelief, he wrote:
“Yo @ZenithBank, what kind of madness is this? I sent ₦100k to my Zenith account and saw ₦63k as balance. What’s going on?”
The tweet quickly gained traction online, amassing over 188,000 views, as X users flooded the comment section with mixed reactions. While some shared similar experiences with bank charges and deductions, others speculated about prior debits or account activity that may have affected the balance.
As of the time of this report, Zenith Bank has not publicly responded to the complaint, and the exact reason behind the discrepancy remains unclear.
The incident has once again sparked conversations about bank charges, transparency, and the need for clearer transaction notifications for customers in Nigeria.
