Nigerian Man Cancels Booking Over Entertainer’s Political Post, Sparks Debate

A Nigerian man has gone viral online after expressing frustration over a cancelled event booking, linking his decision to the political stance of an entertainer he had hired.

In a video making rounds on social media, the man criticized individuals who openly support political figures, warning that such “mandates” should at least be financially rewarding.

According to him, he had already paid the entertainer for an upcoming event before discovering that the individual had posted birthday messages in honor of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The discovery didn’t sit well with him, prompting him to cancel the booking and demand a refund.

He explained that after notifying the entertainer about his decision and requesting his money back, the entertainer questioned his sudden change of mind.

In his words:

People that are standing on mandates, be careful of the mandates you are standing on. Ensure it’s that mandate that is feeding you… I done send money. Na him, last week, him don post for him status: Happy birthday, my father… I come realize say this boy dey stand on mandate, I call am, give me my money back…”

He further emphasized that people should ensure their political loyalty translates into tangible benefits, especially in difficult economic times.
