Nigerian Lady Sparks Outrage After Faking ‘RIP’ Post to Win Back Boyfriend

A Nigerian lady has stirred intense reactions online after her desperate attempt to reconcile with her boyfriend over a misunderstanding was exposed on social media.

The drama began after a screenshot shared on TikTok by @lohreyy revealed a WhatsApp message the lady sent to her friend. In the message, she begged her friend to post a picture on WhatsApp status with the caption “Rest in Peace (RIP)”, making it visible only to her boyfriend.

According to her, she had repeatedly apologized to him, but he insisted the relationship was over and stopped responding to her calls and messages.

She wrote:

“I’ve been apologizing to him, but he is just saying he is done with the relationship. He isn’t replying me, not even picking my calls again.

I’m thinking if he sees it, he will be scared and try to reach out to me and say he has forgiven me.”

The leaked message quickly went viral, with many social media users expressing shock at the extreme measure she considered just to get her boyfriend’s attention.

While some sympathized with her emotional pain, others strongly criticized the act, describing it as manipulative and dangerous.

One user commented, “Na wa oo, the length people go for relationships is alarming.”

Another wrote, “RIP just to reach a man that doesn’t care about you? This is too much.”

The incident has reignited conversations online about emotional dependence, boundaries in relationships, and the misuse of social media to seek validation or reconciliation.
