A Nigerian lady’s Facebook post detailing the funds in VeryDarkMan’s NGO account has gone viral online amid his ongoing feud with human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu.
Recall that social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), launched an NGO account in October 2024 aimed at reforming Nigeria’s public education system.
The lady, identified by her Facebook handle Anita Chinwe Ihebinike, stated that VeryDarkMan has been transparent about the funds donated to his foundation. To support her claim, she shared a screenshot showing the total amount received, funds spent, and the current balance in the NGO account.
According to the screenshot, a total of ₦377,923,178.16 has been donated to the Martin Vincent Otse Foundation so far. Out of this amount, ₦112,094,360 has reportedly been deployed for projects, leaving a balance of ₦265,828,818.16.
In her post, Anita questioned why critics have continued to demand accountability from VeryDarkMan while allegedly ignoring similar scrutiny of other NGO operators.
Her post read in part:
“Is it not strange that in all of this, nobody has asked Harrison how much he has raised in total through his NGO? But every day here, people keep asking VDM of his NGO money despite how transparent he has been with the money.
Anyway, here is the total money raised so far by Martin Vincent Otse Foundation, the total of money spent and the balance.
If e sure for those other NGO bandits, let them show us their own. There are levels to these things.”
The post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users praising VeryDarkMan’s alleged transparency, while others called for all NGOs to publicly disclose their financial records to build trust and accountability.
