A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to share a disturbing experience she encountered while heading to work—an incident she says taught her a hard but unforgettable lesson.
In a video posted on Instagram, the woman explained that she was running late for work when a stranger offered her a ride. Since her office was just a few minutes away and located within a residential area, she agreed, hoping to save time.
According to her, the ride lasted less than five minutes before the situation took a shocking turn.
“The ride was only five minutes, and this man offered me $300 to make him happy inside the car,” she said.
The lady revealed that although she felt uncomfortable and scared, she remained calm and played along—not out of consent, but as a survival strategy. Her priority, she explained, was to get out of the situation safely without provoking the man or escalating things.
“I just wanted to reach my destination and get out of the car safely,” she added.
Her story has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many women sharing similar experiences and warning others to be cautious.
One social media user commented, “Accepting rides from strangers is really dangerous.”
Another wrote, “She stayed calm just to get out safely. That’s survival, not weakness.”
Reflecting on the incident, the lady said the experience changed her perspective completely.
According to her, she would rather arrive late to work than ever put herself in a situation where her safety or dignity is at risk again.
