Nigerian Lady Alleges Tinder Lover Scammed Her of ₦40 Million, Leaves Her Broke and Homeless

A Nigerian woman has stirred massive reactions online after narrating a heartbreaking story of how she allegedly lost her entire life savings to a man she met on dating app, Tinder.

According to the woman, what started as a seemingly normal online connection quickly spiralled into what she now believes was a well-coordinated scam that drained her financially and emotionally.

How It All Started

She claimed the man introduced himself as a single father who was into building and construction. On their very first date, he reportedly told her he urgently needed money to kick-start a project. Trusting his story, she said she lent him ₦500,000 that same day.

From there, things allegedly escalated at an alarming pace.

Costly “Support” in the Name of Love

The woman said she went above and beyond to support the man’s supposed business. According to her:

She bought him a Samsung phone so he could look more presentable as a businessman

She revamped his Instagram page, which had over 5,000 followers

She sold her iPhone 15 Pro Max to repay a loan she took on his behalf

At some point, she became suspicious and asked for evidence of his construction projects. She alleged that the photos he sent were later discovered to be downloaded from Google.

Despite these red flags, she said she ignored them because he constantly claimed his money was tied up in ongoing projects.

“He Never Bought Me Even a Lip Gloss”

One detail that struck many online was her claim that throughout the relationship, the man never bought her even a lip gloss. Still, she said she stayed, believing his explanations and hoping things would eventually improve.

Within just six months, the woman alleged that she had given the man everything she had — about ₦40 million.

The result? She says she was left broke, homeless, and struggling to survive.

Alleged Scamming Duo

The woman identified the man as Bankole Babalola, a 46-year-old from Ondo State. She further alleged that he worked with his wife, who supposedly posed as his younger sister, describing the entire situation as a deliberate and coordinated scamming scheme.

Social Media Reactions Pour In

Her story has sparked intense reactions online. While many sympathised with her, others expressed shock at how far the situation went.

One user wrote:
