Niger police present N20.7 million cheques to the families of 11 officers killed in the line of duty

The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Ogundele J. Ayodeji, has presented a N2.7 million check to the families of 11 police officers who died while on active duty in the Command between 2021 and 2022.

In a moody atmosphere, Ayodeji presented cheques to beneficiaries of the Force Group Life Insurance Scheme on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, at the Police State Headquarters in Dutsen-Kura, Minna.

The scheme is a welfare gesture initiated by the Inspector General of Police to improve the lives and capacities of the families of fallen officers who died in the line of duty. 

The CP thanked the IGP for such a commendable initiative to assist the families of deceased persons while presenting the cheques to the next-of-kin and family members. 

Ayodeji urged the beneficiaries to manage their resources wisely and effectively for the benefit of their families. 

The bereaved families expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the IGP, the government, and the CP for their efforts in ensuring better care for the bereaved families.

They all assured that the resources would be well managed in order to improve the relatives’ standard of living.
