American rapper Nicki Minaj surprised and delighted her Nigerian fans by tweeting in Pidgin English.
The rapper responded in pidgin to a supposedly false post about her on the microblogging site X.
She reacted angrily, begging them to go one day without mentioning her name, pointing out how many people can only profit from mentioning her name.
She wrote: “I must be the only person you can make money off mentioning. Go 1 day. Abeg. GO ONE FUCKING DAY WITHOUT FKNG LYING ABEG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Nicki Minaj responded quickly to a question about pidgin language instruction from a Nigerian user named @tyxhndrxx, pointing out that she sees pidgin Nigerians all the time on her timeline.

Nicki Minaj responded: “Wetin be the confusion? I Dey have eyes o? I can read all the pidgin weh una pikin de put on my timeline every day. *SUCKS TEETH LOUDLY*”
